About this piece
Wachuma or Huachuma, better known as San Pedro, is a cactus that grows in the Andes and for thousands of years has guided our ancestors, reminding them of their essence, the permanent connection with the divine. and teaching them to heal holistically, body, mind and spirit.
This vessel has a resonant head which creates two different tones depending on the intensity of the movement while performing this instrument.
This vessel has a resonant chamber divided by an internal wall to compress air and water, combining them into a beautiful sound.
The hydraulic sound system of this vessel comes from the ancient “Vicus” culture.
